In the 16th and 17th centuries, Andau was a branch parish of the parish of St. Johann (St. János, Hungary) and became a branch of the parish of Tadten on 6 July 1716. The parish of Andau was established on 29 March 1802.

The registers begin on 19 January 1742 and the Andau registers for the period from 1726 to 1742 can be found in the books of the parish of Tadten and the earlier register entries in the books of the parish of St. Johann (Hungary).

The parish of Andau includes the tenant farms of Allrechtsfeld and Hanság. The Rohrerfeld tenant farm, which is located in Hungary, belonged to the parish of Andau until the establishment of the diocese of Eisenstadt on 15 August 1960 and is now part of the parish of St. Johann (St. János, Hungary).
