Illmitz

The parish of Illmitz consisted of the two parishes of Unter-Illmitz (Alsó Illmitz; lordship: Prince Esterhazy) and Ober-Illmitz (Felsö-Illmitz; lordship: cathedral chapter of Steinamanger, therefore also called ‘Kapitel-Illmitz’). Unter-Illmitz was the largest parish and seat of the parish office, Ober-Illmitz was the branch. Before the First World War, Unter-Illmitz and Ober-Illmitz were merged to form the political municipality of Illmitz and the parish of Illmitz.

The registers of Illmitz for the period from 16 January 1697 to 18 September 1702 also contain the registers of Apetlon, as this parish was a branch of Illmitz during this period.
