On 1 January 1939, the parish of Schandorf took over the pastoral care of the Schachendorf branch, which had previously been provided by Rechnitz. On 10 November 1939, Schachendorf became an independent local parish and on 1 December 1946 was elevated to a parish.
Schachendorf has kept the baptismal register since 1838, the marriage register since 1878 and the death register since 1874.
The earlier registers are recorded in the register books of the parish of Rechnitz.
