The parish of ‘St Jakob in Güssing’ included the communities of: Güssing, Glasing, Langzeil, Neustift bei Güssing, Rosenberg, Urbersdorf and Tobaj.

By decree of the Apostolic Administrator of Burgenland of 21 December 1945, which came into force on 1 January 1946, the parish boundaries were redefined. From the parish of ‘St. Nikolaus’ (Großmürbisch), the parishes of St. Nikolaus and Krottendorf, which had already been incorporated into the municipality of Güssing on 23 September 1940, were transferred to the parish of ‘St. Jakob in Güssing’. The parish of Tobaj, which had previously belonged to the parish of St. Jakob, became the parish of St. Nikolaus (Großmürbisch).
